Kids that eat meals with their families do better in school, snack a lot less and are healthier. To make the dining experience more enjoyable it’s important to display good manners. Teach your kids the basics, no chewing food with your mouth open, no complaining about the food, and no putting food in your napkin onto your lap. Make sure your own behavior is as well mannered; don’t answer the phone during the meal. Encourage a discussion and don’t dominate the table conversation. And lastly don’t use this time to lecture your child about their bad behavior or their messy room. This will make your dining experience much more enjoyable.
