Enforcing Rules

Recently an article in the New York Daily News was reporting on parents who let their young children drink coffee and coke and play video games at dinner among other things. What is interesting is that many parents allow this kind of behavior rather than tolerate the upset that a child may have when enforcing some rule. You are not being a bad parent when you relax a rule from time to time but letting children do things so they are quiet and don’t bother you is a mistake.
