There is a phenomenon occurring on college campuses and beyond. Parents who are intimately involved in every aspect of their children’s lives. From calling to wake them up in the morning, to scheduling their classes, monitoring their personal email and bank accounts, drafting to-do lists, checking grades, etc. And, in the workplace? Bosses are commenting that kids who have been micromanaged by parents will be dysfunctional in the workplace no matter what kind of skills they have. When should parents back-off and allow their children to develop competency?
